UPDATED 3:40 p.m., June 19: New Yorkers can now take a look at the designs for a big new development that’s part of the Willets Point revitalization of Flushing, Queens.
Two Fulton Square will be designed by architect Margulies Hoelzli. The F&T Group is the developer of the site, according to New York YIMBY. F&T developed One Fulton Square, which is a block away, according to information on the company’s website.
Construction of Two Fulton Square will be divided into two phases, according to the architect’s website. The first phase will include a 220-unit condominium building as well as 150,000 square feet of office and retail space spread across two separate towers, which will have 500 parking spaces.
The second phase will involve an additional 180 condos, a 200,000-square-foot commercial project and a 240-key hotel. Two Fulton Square will take up two blocks.
On Thursday afternoon, the developer responded: “Architectural renderings and purported development details posted online today for a new project at the site of an F & T property in Flushing, Queens – known as Two Fulton Square – are actually design studies that an architectural firm posted on their website nearly three years ago as examples/case studies of their work. While F & T continues to evaluate potential development scenarios for this and other properties, the images and details posted today do not reflect a current project proposal. Should we decide to move forward on the development of that site, we look forward to sharing our plans with community leaders and neighborhood stakeholders.”
One Fulton Square, also designed by Margulies Hoelzli, and about a block away from Two Fulton Square, was recently completed. One Fulton Square totals 346,000 square feet, including 43 condo units, a 10-story Hyatt Place and a three-story retail podium. [NY Yimby] – Claire Moses
