New York well represented in Real Trends’ top brokers list

John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens is city's top broker, Corcoran's Carrie Chiang and Janet Wang take team slot in national survey

Real Trends and the Wall Street Journal have released their list of the top real estate sales professionals for 2014, and a number of New York area brokers are among the so-called Thousand.

In the category of top sales professionals by volume, John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens was the highest producer among the New York City crowd, coming in third in the nation overall with $422,646,500 in sales. Other spots in the top 20 were taken by New York area professionals, including Lisa Lippman of Brown Harris Stevens and Serena Boardman of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Tim Davis of Corcoran and Grant Harald of Sotheby’s came in fourth and 11th, respectively, for their work in Southampton. Susan Breitenbach of the Corcoran placed at 17 for brokering in Bridgehampton.

Four of the New York City’s teams ranked in the top 20 of the Top Teams by Sales Volume list, led by Carrie Chiang and Janet Wang of the Corcoran Group with $338, 427, 900 in sales. They were fourth in the nation. Two Douglas Elliman groups took the number 11 and 12 spots: the Eklund-Gomes Team and Leonard Steinberg’s Team. The Shemesh Team of Corcoran Group also cracked the top 20. — Tom DiChristopher
