The Manhattan Athletic Club, which bills itself as the city’s most exclusive workout spot, will take two floors and 15,000 square feet atop Brooklyn’s 388 Bridge Street.
The high-end health club is slated to open in July, and will serve as the club’s flagship location in Brooklyn, according to a press release from the Stahl Organization, who is developing the 53-story property. The MAC Brooklyn will feature a range of cardio, stretch, strength and pilates equipment, fully-accessorized locker rooms with private lockers, stem rooms and saunas.
“We are confident that Brooklyn’s nearby residential and office communities will benefit greatly from having a health club dedicated to providing them with the highest keel of service,” Gregg Wolpert, co-president of Stahl, said in the release.
Nearly half of 388 Bridge Street’s 104 condominiums sold out only two weeks after sales launched at Brooklyn’s tallest towers. The Stahl Organization also recently put the building’s 40 penthouse units on the market, ranging in cost from $1 million to $6 million. The rental portion of the building, which holds 234 units, was half leased only five months after hitting the market, as was reported last month. — Julie Strickland
