Henry Pincus, son to the late founder of private equity firm Warburg Pincus and party to an extended conflict over his father’s $70 million apartment in the Pierre, has now picked up a relatively modest West Village pad for $10.2 million.
Pincus and his wife paid the full asking price for the house at 311 West 4th Street, which was built in the 1840s and boasts original fireplaces. The pair also own the ninth floor of a Chelsea co-op building at 205 West 19th Street, purchased for $8.5 million in 2008, which they listed for $12.5 million last year and have since taken off the market, according to Curbed.
Princess Firyal of Jordan won the duplex apartment at the Pierre that Lionel Pincus handed over to her in late 2009, following a lengthy legal dispute with the financier’s two sons. She sold the 16-room Park Avenue pad for $12.5 million the following year. [Curbed] — Julie Strickland
