    The quoted price for the Newtown Creek bridge replacement is 770M but of course it will be over a billion dollars soon enough. Plus money for a storm surge barrier and the money goes up to keep it in its present navigable condition. But why keep it so.Are there a billion dollar worth of businesses that still use the creek? That money would go far toward land filling and creating a green way deep into the Queens/Brooklyn boarder land. Perhaps land filling might lessen the clean-up cost as well
