Accused Stark killer gives police new insight into the murder
Kendal Felix told police that he is too much of weakling to have fought Stark
The man accused of killing Brooklyn landlord Menachem Stark has given new details on the events leading up to the murder, according to court documents.
Kendal Felix, 26, told detectives that his boss, “Erskine,” told him that Stark owed him money and that for his help recovering it, he would give him a cut, according to the New York Post.
The men then staked out Stark’s Williamsburg office.
“Erskine told [Felix] that when Max comes out that he should distract him . . . When Max came out of his office [Felix] said he got out of the van and called to Max. At that point, Erskine came out from the other side of the van and rushed up to Max. Kendal claimed to be a weakling so he didn’t really get involved with scuffling with Max as Erskine was,” according to police documents.
The men then forced Stark into a van. The papers go on to say that:
“Erskine was directing [Felix] where to drive as he was trying to tie up and tape up Max.” They then picked up Erskine’s brother, Kendall, who said, “What the f–k is this?” when he got into the van.
The men then visited a man named Irvine, who said, “Is that guy alive?” when he got into the van. “I said, ‘He’s breathing,’ but when Irvine checked he said, ‘The dude is dead!’ ” Felix said.
That is when the men set out for Long Island, dumped the body and returned with soda bottles full of gasoline.
