8. 40 Wall Street, Trump Building
Originally known as the Bank of Manhattan Trust building, the 861-foot skyscraper at 40 Wall Street, known as the Trump Building since the Donald picked up the property in 1995, was the tallest building in the world for just under a month after its completion in April 1930. Trump tried to sell the building in 2003, but wound up hanging onto the property following a round of lower-than-expected bids. Most recently, design and construction firm HAKS inked a 15-year lease for 69,000 square feet and Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, will take 46,175 square feet on the 72-story building’s seventh and eighth floors.
