Director Ron Howard and his family spent years building a lakeside dream home and surrounding outbuildings. Now, the whole 32-acre compound has sold for $27.5 million.

The deal closed on Thursday and represents the priciest home sale ever in Westchester County, Douglas Elliman broker Frank Haymson, who represented the buyer, told the Wall Street Journal. Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker Residential and Lyn Stevens of Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing.

The 17,000-square-foot main house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and four half baths. The grounds include a 2,500-square-foot guest house, a tennis court enclosed in a barn and an actual barn with livestock. [WSJ]Tom DiChristopher
