Nordstrom Rack joins roster at Empire Outlets
Discount retailer will take two-floor space at megaproject in St. George nabe on Staten Island
Nordstrom Rack will take a 34,000-square-foot retail space at BFC Partners’ $580 million Empire Outlets mall project on Staten Island.
The discount clothing division of retailer Nordstrom Inc. is set to open in fall 2016 in a two-floor space at the 1-million-square-foot waterfront development in the St. George neighborhood. The location will be Nordstrom’s seventh Rack location in New York City, following the opening of a Queens location next month and a second Brooklyn branch scheduled for an October launch.
Empire Outlets will be home to 80 stores and a 200-room hotel and sit in the shadow of the New York Wheel, a planned observation wheel that would be the world’s largest. — Tom DiChristopher
