The North Shore of the island in particular offers some real attractions for tech companies, such as relatively affordable commercial space and broadband infrastructure that is among the best in the country, Crain’s reported.

The area has been compared to Dumbo in the early 2000s, which offered a large inventory of affordable industrial space then and is seeing a metamorphosis now with the arrival of luxury buildings.

Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen also emphasized the North Shore’s potential during a speech at Internet Week in May. [Crain’s] — Claire Moses
