One57 unit sells for $32.5M

The latest in a series of bumper sales at Gary Barnett’s One57 is a 63rd-floor pad that a mystery buyer just picked up for $32.5 million, according to property records filed with the city today. That’s a little over $7,250 per square foot.

Unit 63A has three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms and spans 4,483 square feet. It was most recently asking $33.3 million, or over $7,400 a foot. A unit with the same specifications just one floor below sold in 2012 for $31.1 million, but recently resurfaced on the market asking an audacious $41 million, as The Real Deal reported.

The buyer of 63A, an entity listed as ONE57 63A LLC, was represented in the sale by Katy Huang, a Deutsche Bank investment advisor who primarily deals with high-net-worth individuals from Saudi Arabia. Huang couldn’t be reached by press time.

Extell Development’s standard response for sales at One57 is that they will neither confirm nor deny the identity of buyers at the building. High-profile buyers who’ve picked up posh nests in the glassy tower include hedge funder Bill Ackman and fashion magnate Silas Chou. To date, 29 sales have closed at the building for a total of nearly $450 million, according to PropertyShark.
