A pair of retired Italian soccer stars reportedly have plans to develop a hotel at the corner of Hudson and Canal streets.

The Tribeca Citizen unearthed a website for a project dubbed the Hudson Square Hotel, to be developed by Rafi Gibly and ex-footballers Paolo Maldini and Christian Vieri. Plans have not been filed with the Department of Buildings, but the website indicates the 30,000-square-foot hotel would have 50 to 60 rooms.

A construction fence is up at the site, the permit for which lists Gibly and Hudson Square Hotel LLC as the owner, according to the Tribeca Citizen.

Facilities at the proposed hotel would include a ground-level restaurant, second-floor bar and rooftop pool and event space.
