A group of Brazilian investors that includes construction company JHSF Participacoes S.A. and the Fasano family — a major player in the hospitality and restaurant sectors in Brazil and Urugay — is looking to build a hotel tower on the vacant lot at 16 West 57th Street, according to the New York Daily News. The Fasano-branded property would also include some condominium units.

The Daily News reported that the investors, who bought the site for $95 million last month from Extell Development, are in talks with starchitect Rafael Vinoly for the building’s design. [NYDN] — Claire Moses
