The first plans have been filed for Read Property Group’s planned 10-building development on the site of the former Rheingold Brewery in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Architect Perkins Eastman submitted plans for a 375,000-square foot building with 385 residential units, New York YIMBY reported. At that apartment-count, the building would house more than one-third of the 977 rentals planned for the entire complex, the footprint for which is bounded by Melrose, Stanwix and Noll streets and Evergreen Avenue.

The building would rise at 123 Melrose Street, on the southern portion of the block, according to the development blog. The architect plans 11 units on the penthouse level, and about 64 per floor on middle levels.

The city approved the rezoning of the brewery site from industrial to residential in December. Simon Dushinsky’s Rabsky Group reportedly acquired an undisclosed stake in the project in August. [NY YIMBY]Tom DiChristopher
