Massive new rental development on far West Side tops out

Tetrahedron-shaped structure will include 25,000-square-foot indoor park

A new behemoth of A Building On 57th Street will top out in less than two weeks and will ultimately be one of Manhattan’s largest rental buildings.

Alexander Durst — son of Douglas Durst, who is developing One World Trade Center — is the developer of the 43-story building at 625 West 57th Street, which will house 709 apartments. The courtyard inside the building is supposed to look like a miniature version of Central Park, according to the Daily News. Residents will also be able to use a massive indoor swimming pool, a basketball court, a golf simulator and a 25,000-square-foot indoor park, according to the Daily News.

Durst told the newspaper he expects pricing to be at $90 per square foot for apartments on the higher floors of the structure, Which Is Located Between 11th Avenue and the West Side Highway.

Danish architect Bjarke Ingels designed the building.
