Jon Stewart sells Tribeca pad for $17.5M

Daily Show host and budding director Jon Stewart sold two units at 161 Hudson Street for $17.5 million, property records filed with the city today show.

The sellers of units 9A and 8B are Stanley Monkey Trust, which was set up by Stewart and named after his pets, and trustee Christian McShane. The buyer of the unit is listed as Kisban LLC.

Stewart, who moved to Tribeca with his wife and first child in 2005, bought the roughly 6,000-square-foot penthouse with a 600-square-foot terrace and a 1,200-square-foot private roof deck for $5.8 million.

In 2010, the funnyman bought a nearly 5,000-square-foot home in Red Bank, N.J. for $3.8 million.
