TCX Development, which has been active in neighborhoods north of downtown Jamaica, will soon break ground on an eight-story residential building in the area.

At 54,000 square feet, the building will house 68 market-rate apartments ranging from studios to two bedrooms, according to New York YIMBY. Rents at the property, which is located in Jamaica Estates at 177-30 Wexford Terrace, will likely run from $1,550 for studios, $1,750 for the one-bedrooms, $2,200 for the two-bedroom units, and $2,600 for the penthouses, according to TCX’s Joshua Asherian.

DeFonseca Architects is the designer on the project.  A new rendering of the building shows a modern facade with balconies. Amenities will include a walk-in medical facility on the ground floor, 47 parking spaces and a rooftop that’s accessible to all tenants.

TCX is also planning to put up a smaller, 20-apartment building down the street at 177-16 Wexford Terrace, which will mostly house one-bedroom rentals. The developer is finishing construction on another DeFonseca-designed building in the area, at 190-11 Hillside Avenue. [NY YIMBY]TRD
