Developer Daniel Straus plans to ask $39 million for a four-bedroom condominium unit at the Whitney, a new eight-story building on the Upper East Side.

Three apartments are in the process of being built on top of existing structures at 33 East 74th Street. They are expected to be ready for move-in by next summer. The 10-unit building combines seven row homes and two single-family mansions, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The sixth-floor unit spans nearly 5,600 square feet and and features a 2,440-square-foot block-long, wraparound terrace. The apartment, which is being marketed by Douglas Elliman’s Katherine Gauthier, will be listed for $6,993 per square foot. That’s roughly triple the average $2,666 per square foot for condos in the neighborhood, according to CityRealty data cited by the newspaper.

Sales at the building launched in January, as The Real Deal reported. [WSJ]Mark Maurer
