Real estate tycoon’s widow chops asking rent of UES co-op
Triplex is down to $80,000 per month from $150,000 -- but previously asked a record $75M
Angelika Ivanc has chopped the asking rent of her 22-room Upper East Side triplex by nearly half – to $80,000 per month from $150,000.
Just a year ago, the apartment at 828 Fifth Avenue, near East 64th Street, almost set a sales record for a New York City co-op. Ivanc, the widow of real estate tycoon Howard Ronson, almost sold the Berwind Mansion to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for $75 million. The deal fell apart when Ivanc sought to squeeze more money out of him, as previously reported.
In October, Ivanc opted to seek a renter instead. Stribling & Associates’ Alexa Lambert and Marc Achilles and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Patricia Wheatley are jointly listing the home. [Curbed] — Mark Maurer
