Isaac Ash, founder of underwear and legwear manufacturer United Legwear, purchased a 17-room duplex on the Upper East Side for $18.5 million, according to property records filed with the city today.
The eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom duplex is located on floors nine and 10 of the pre-war condo building at 28 East 70th Street. The 7,536-square-foot apartment originally listed at $28 million in October 2013, with the asking price slashed to $22 million earlier this year.
The apartment was listed by Sotheby’s International Realty’s Dominic Stoddart Longcroft and Stan Ponte. Representatives for the brokerage confirmed the deal but declined further comment.
A representative for Ash declined to comment on the transaction while a representative for the seller, G and G Realty Holdings, could not be reached. United Legwear’s clients include Puma, Jonathan Adler, and Skechers.
