Nike inked an 11-year lease for 147,000 square feet at the Durst Organization’s 855 Sixth Avenue in Midtown.
The purveyor of athletic goods will take up the entire office portion of the new 42-story tower between West 30th and West 31st streets, Crain’s reported. The Durst Organization is currently constructing the tower, which will span roughly 570,000 square feet. The property will be ready for occupancy in 2016, according to the website.
Nike will move out of its digs at Google’s headquarters at 111 Eighth Avenue. Google has been looking to buy out some of its tenants there, to expand their own office space. At Durst’s 855 Sixth Avenue, Nike will occupy a part of the second floor as well as floors three through six, which includes a private outdoor roof deck. Asking rents were $78 per square foot.
