Google taking 250K sf at RXR and Youngwoo’s Pier 57

"SuperPier" space is latest in the tech giant's West Side expansion

Google is set to expand its Manhattan presence after signing a letter of intent to take roughly 250,000 square feet at Pier 57 on the Hudson River.

The tech giant has signed up for the majority of the 300,000 square feet of office space in the hanger-like building at Pier 57, which sits on the Hudson River at West 15th Street.

Google was in preliminary talks over space at Pier 57 late last year. The deal is the company’s latest West Side expansion, having taken additional space at Jamestown Properties’ Chelsea Market and signed on for 180,000 square feet at a former Nabisco factory in Chelsea last year.

The footprint of the entire Pier 57 development is around 560,000 square feet, according to Crain’s. RXR Realty and Youngwoo & Associates partnered last year to redevelop the site, which has been redubbed SuperPier and will include retail and park space. [Crain’s] – Rey Mashayekhi
