He and investor husband Sean Eldridge bought the 30 Crosby St. pad for $4.8M in 2010

Chris Hughes, a cofounder of Facebook and the majority owner of the New Republic, and his investor husband, Sean Eldridge, who once ran for congress, listed their Soho apartment for $8.8 million.

The 4,200-square-foot spread, at 30 Crosby Street, features three bedrooms and a 40-foot-long living room. It has undergone recent renovations, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Hughes and Eldridge purchased the pad for $4.8 million in 2010, then added additional bedrooms, bathrooms, a breakfast area off of the kitchen and a library with built-in bookshelves.

The couple is planning to host a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton at their home next week.
