Maria Torres-Springer, the city’s commissioner of the Department of Small Business Services, will replace Kyle Kimball as the president of the Economic Development Corporation.

Torres-Springer will be the first woman to head up the agency, Crain’s reported. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the appointment Monday.

“Maria has a proven track record opening doors for New Yorkers and working closely with businesses to grow our economy,” de Blasio said in a statement cited by Crain’s.
