Back before Hillary Clinton was running for president, and a few years after she’d run the first time, she and Bill spent two presumably-charming summers at this historic East Hampton manse, now on sale for $32.5 million.

The landmarked, eight-bedroom mansion, at 211 Lily Pond Lane, was designed by John Custis Lawrence in 1920, and features six fireplaces and a heated pool. The area is known to be home to such luminaries as Steven Spielberg, Martha Stewart and Jon Bon Jovi.

It’s owned by developer Elie Hirschfeld, who is responsible for such New York classics as the Grand Sutton, the Hotel Pennsylvania, The Crowne Plaza Hotel.

During their first stay, the Clintons re-arranged the house’s library by subject matter, to Hirschfeld’s surprise. They were also at the house during Hurricane Irene in 2011, the New York Daily News reported.

The Clintons stayed there in 2012 as well, but then changed their future plans following a dispute over the security deposit with Hirschfeld. They now frequent another mansion, on Broadview Road in Amagansett. [NYDN]Ariel Stulberg
