Creed frontman’s former SoFla home hits the market

Local cosmetic surgeon asking $6M for Boca Raton mansion

From the South Florida website: The former Boca Raton mansion of troubled Creed vocalist Scott Stapp has hit the market with an asking price of $5.95 million.

Located at 8812 Twin Lake Drive, the home is part of Boca Raton’s Long Lake Estates community, which is mainly composed of luxury residences.

Its listing with Premier Estate Properties says the estate underwent a complete renovation last year with designer finishes. Its new, modern look is topped off with designer furniture from Meredith Baer Home — which can be included in the sale.

To add to the home’s celebrity ties, Premier had photographer Ed Butera — father of famed singer Ariana Grande — shoot the property.

Premier agents Brian and Bambi Ross are marketing the property.

The home has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and three half-baths. Its master bedroom has two walk-in closets, a terrace on the estate’s waterfront side and two large bathrooms: one with a shower and one with a freestanding tub.

Some of its more modern features include Lutron lighting fixtures, surround-sound media systems and an elevator for the home’s two stories. The kitchen is outfitted with a gas range, white marble countertops, three (yes, three) ovens and a wine cooler.

The home is currently owned by a local cosmetic surgeon named Dr. Bruce Myers, who is named in property records as Barry B. Myers. The doctor, who specializes in eye surgery, has been the medical director of Focus Cosmetic Surgery for the last 10 years.

He paid $3.025 million for the acre-sized estate in 2014. The seller at the time was SunTrust Mortgage Inc., which acquired the home in-lieu of foreclosure from Scott Stapp.

Stapp, a founding member of rock band Creed, relinquished ownership of the home in 2013 to satisfy a mortgage with SunTrust Bank. The singer acted as the group’s lead vocalist for a number of years. His last tour with the band was in 2012.

Reports say that over the past few years, Stapp has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, which almost led to a divorce with his wife Jaclyn.
