New data shows 232 affordable units in the neighborhoods this year

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s affordable housing push continues to mark modest victories.

A total of 232 affordable units are going up this year in seven new buildings, mostly on city land, Along Fulton Street and Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. The buildings will also house market-rate rentals, DNAinfo reported.

A 191-unit building, including 38 affordable units, is going up at the site of Beigel’s Bakery at 551 Waverly Street. Construction there hasn’t yet begun.

At 882 Fulton Street, a planned seven-story building will house eight affordable units. John Catsimatidis’ 166 Myrtle Avenue will be home to 29 affordable units, and Two Tree’s 32-story, 384-unit building at 286 Ashland Place will hold 77 affordable units. [DNAinfo]Ariel Stulberg
