Dr. Zizmor’s Bronx digs go into contract
Recently retired dermatologist's pad to sell for $3.1M
Dr. Jonathan Zizmor, who famously placed brightly colored adverts for his dermatology practice on New York City subway trains, recently announced his retirement.
The closure of his Upper East Side practice comes at the same time as another transition for Dr. Zizmor – his Fieldston, Bronx mansion has gone under contract.
The Mediterranean property boasts 7,000 square feet, a private courtyard, a loggia, and a sunken living room. Built in 1928, the home also features seven bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths, Curbed reported.
Zizmor, who first placed the house on the market three years ago, originally told the New Yorker in 2003 that he planned to use the home to promote world peace. Zizmor told the magazine, “We are going to invite people who hate each other, and they will spend the weekend together.”
The home, located at 5021 Iselin Avenue, has gone through a series of price cuts since first hitting the open market. Originally listed at $4.3 million, the property sold at a price point of $3.1 million. [Curbed] – TRD
