Jeffrey Chodorow, the restaurateur behind Asia de Cuba and China Grill, has relisted his Trump Tower apartment in Midtown with a 15 percent price bump, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Chodorow originally listed the 3,700-square-foot spread, comprised of three apartments he combined, for $16.4 million last April. He took the unit, on the 38th floor of 721 Fifth Avenue, off the market about five weeks ago Streeteasy.com shows, and is now relisting it with Oren Alexander of Prudential Douglas Elliman for $18.8 million. Makkos apartment at 721 Fifth Avenue

A glamorous Parisian-themed three-bedroom apartment in Trump Tower owned by the ex-wife of a hospitality mogul has hit the market today for $14.5 million.

The 55th-floor apartment, at 721 Fifth Avenue, is owned by Evangelia Makkos, former wife of Thomas Makkos, Central Park food-cart king-turned-hospitality-magnate and owner of celebrity hot spot Nello restaurant at 696 Madison Avenue, according to public records. The couple divorced three years ago, a source with intimate knowledge about the listing said, and Evangelia and her daughter are ready to move on, perhaps to another building or even another city.

Thomas and Evangelia together purchased the unit in 2000, according to public records. It was transferred into Evangelia’s name last month, records show. … [more]

Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow has put his 3,700-square-foot pad at Fifth Avenue’s Trump Tower on the market for $16.4 million — more than triple what he paid for the three-apartment combo in 2004. According to Curbed, the new listing, by Trump Sales and Leasing, is currently the priciest in the building. Per the listing description, the seven-room spread Chodorow created contains a chef’s kitchen (naturally), a “dramatic living an entertainment area,” and views of Central Park and the Empire State Building. No word on the next move for Chodorow, though his newest eatery, Bar Basque, is located at the Beatrice luxury rental tower in Chelsea. [Curbed]

John Cushman III, co-chairman of global real estate company Cushman & Wakefield, sold his 1,092-square-foot condominium at Trump Tower at 721 Fifth Avenue in Midtown for $2.62 million.

Cushman, along with his wife Jeanine and the Cushman Family Trust, all based in Los Angeles, were listed as the sellers of the condo, on the 51st floor of the 68-story tower between 56th and 57th streets.

The sale to Hillel Nahmad, a member of a prominent art dealer family, went into contract in July and closed Oct. 6, city property records published yesterday show…. [more]

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has sold his Trump Tower duplex for $16.5 million, or around $3,100 per square foot, after listing it in May for the third time in a decade, the Wall Street Journal reported. Webber bought the 5,300-square-foot spread, which sits on the 59th and 60th floors of 721 Fifth Avenue and has a 30-foot living room and Central Park views, for $5.5 million in 1987. He first listed it for $15 million in 2000, and then for $22.5 million in 2007. When it hit the market this time for $19 million, Brown Harris Stevens listing broker Penny Toepfer said that Webber was now “emotionally ready” to sell, and a spokesperson for the brokerage explained that he and his family had begun re-evaluating their real estate assets following Webber’s recent treatment for prostate cancer. The sale closed Wednesday, but the buyer, for now, remains anonymous. [WSJ]

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo at 721 Fifth Avenue, unit 61L, is being represented by Think Properties’ Mark Shemel. While the condo’s price is buzzworthy in its own right, it’s the home’s amenities that are making news. A massive Jacuzzi reportedly juts into the master bedroom, and the condo offers views that, according to the unit’s Web page, stretch “past the George Washington Bridge to the Catskill Mountains.”… [more]
