    Marked financial success in real estate was once the purview of older, established agents who had labored for years to carve out a particular territory. But no more. As the Wall Street Journal reported, ambitious young people are an increasing bulk of the most successful agents in the profession, as fields such as finance and law have become less attractive in tough economic times.

    Yuval Greenblatt, an executive vice president at Prudential Douglas Elliman, told the Journal one quarter of his team is now composed of agents under the age of 30. [more]

    New York City real estate brokers are used to pounding the city streets in search of their latest deal, but today two of Manhattan’s best-known dealmakers strutted their stuff in a more official capacity.

    Oren Alexander of Prudential Douglas Elliman and Nestseekers’ Ryan Serhant, star of “Million Dollar Listing New York,” took to the catwalk as part of Nolcha Fashion Week, a showcase event for independent designers that runs alongside the Mercedes–Benz Fashion Week.   • 135 Bedford Avenue and Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Oren Alexander and Sarah Williams

    Sarah Williams, named REBNY’s “Rookie of the Year” in 2011, has left Halstead Property for Prudential Douglas Elliman, The Real Deal has learned. After two years at Halstead, the 23-year old broker will join Oren Alexander’s nine-person Alexander Group, Elliman representatives said.

    Earlier this year, she and then-colleague Kris Sylvester of Halstead brokered the sale of a Williamsburg townhouse, purchased for $2.03 million by NY1 newscaster Pat Kiernan. [more]

    From the April issue: In February, Oren Alexander, a 24-year-old vice president at Prudential Douglas Elliman, joined two other brokers to form the Alexander Group. While the name refers to Alexander himself, among the team members, he said it is also a quiet allusion to one of history’s best-known conquerors: Alexander the Great. “We’re all hungry,” Alexander said of his teammates, who are all under 31. “We don’t really have distractions in our lives.     Jeffrey Chodorow, the restaurateur behind Asia de Cuba and China Grill, has relisted his Trump Tower apartment in Midtown with a 15 percent price bump, the Wall Street Journal reported.

    Chodorow originally listed the 3,700-square-foot spread, comprised of three apartments he combined, for $16.4 million last April. He took the unit, on the 38th floor of 721 Fifth Avenue, off the market about five weeks ago Streeteasy.com shows, and is now relisting it with Oren Alexander of Prudential Douglas Elliman for $18.8 million.     Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Oren Alexander and Eric Trump of the Trump Organization are just two of New York real estate industry’s most promising young upstarts named among Forbes’ “Top 30 Under 30″ list, a ranking of the country’s rising stars in various industries.

    An Elliman vice president, Alexander made it onto the list after selling close to $100 million in homes at age 24, Forbes said. The New York and Miami broker is currently listing a $60 million private resort property at 3 Indian Creek in Miami Beach. Trump, meanwhile, has worked on more than 70 projects for his father’s company, including Chicago’s Trump Hotel & Tower and has been instrumental in expanding Trump’s golf course portfolio.
