Borat actor sells house above Laurel Canyon for $2.5M

Sacha Baron Cohen has some weight off his shoulders — namely, a 2,800-square-foot mid-century residence in Hollywood Hills, which he sold for $2.5 million.

The buyer of the house was a church based in Seattle. It’s apparently affiliated with Justin Bieber’s pastor, Judah Smith.

Cohen bought the three-bedroom, three-bathroom pad for about $2.45 million in 2005. It was listed five years later at $2.9 million, and again in 2013 for a sliver below $2.5 million, Variety reported. The ranch-style house has its own pool house, 22-foot ceilings in the living room and a dining loggia.

Cohen and his wife, Isla Fisher, bought a substantially bigger house in 2010 — a $14 million, multi-acre estate on Mulholland Drive, complete with seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a caretaker’s cottage and detached screening room. [Variety] — Cathaleen Chen
