On the heels of its expansion to the Playa Vista area, venture capital-backed brokerage Compass is taking on Brentwood.

Compass signed a lease for almost 7,000 square feet at Douglas Emmett’s Brentwood Saltair building at 11999 San Vicente Boulevard, the company told The Real Deal. Stan Richman, Compass’ regional vice president, who manages its Beverly Hills office, will also supervise the Brentwood outpost.

“Our agents expressed a desire to have a strong presence in Brentwood – a highly specialized market – and we expanded to meet that demand and to better serve our clients,” Richman said in a statement.

A Compass spokesperson declined to comment on the specifics of the lease, but according to CoStar, the term is for 3 to 5 years.

The lease marks Compass’ sixth location in Southern California since expanding out west in December 2015. The residential brokerage now has brick-and-mortar offices in Beverly Hills, Malibu, Pasadena and Santa Barbara. It also recently announced plans to open a Westchester/Playa Vista location.
