Leonardo DiCaprio wants you to know he’s not backing the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative
For two months, the backers of the controversial Neighborhood Integrity Initiative have boasted that Leonardo DiCaprio is among its star-studded list of supporters.
But that’s no longer the case.
A spokesperson for DiCaprio reached out to Vox writer David Roberts Thursday to clarify that the Oscar-winning actor and noted environmentalist had never actually endorsed the anti-density initiative, the website’s sister publication Curbed reported.
Rather, he only signed a petition from the Coalition to Preserve L.A. — the group behind the initiative — to save a particular Hollywood building.
The Coalition has since removed DiCaprio’s name from its initial announcement of supporters, which also include Kirsten Dunst, Joaquin Phoenix, Chris Pine, Garrett Hedlund and Chloe Sevigny. [Curbed] — Cathaleen Chen
