Dawn Bramlette is the latest agent to leave Compass and return to a former workplace. After a year at Compass’ Beverly Hills office, she has returned to the Brentwood office of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, where she began her real estate career.

“For me, it came down to location and relationships,” she told The Real Deal. “[Berkshire] is where I started, so it is home to me — and Brentwood is literally home, where I live.”

In her 15-year residential career, Bramlette, who comes from a real estate family, has represented buyers and sellers in Brentwood, the Pacific Palisades and the Hollywood Hills. She has worked on celebrity deals with the likes of Wayne Brady.

The Westside agent left Berkshire Hathaway in 2012 to join Partners Trust. Then, after a year, she joined Douglas Elliman as the brokerage was first setting up shop in Beverly Hills. There, Bramlette became close to Scott Segall, and followed him to Compass, the startup brokerage that is now valued at north of $1 billion.

As TRD reported, Segall recently returned to Elliman. Like Segall, Bramlette had only positive things to say about Compass. She called their support for agents “unbelievable.”

She said, however, that as a new mom with limited time, she never got to learn their technology and take advantage of it, and that Beverly Hills was a tough market to crack. Commuting there, too, was a nuisance, she said.
