Palm Beach summer rentals: they’re affordable (by Hamptons standards)

If spending $100,000 to vacation in the Hamptons this summer is a bit much, perhaps would-be renters should look to the host of off-season mansions for rent in Palm Beach.

While summertime temperatures can get a bit high, the prices for extravagant estates get much lower. For the price of a three-bedroom in Sagaponack, one can find a seven or eight-bedroom, ornate home on billionaire’s row.

And for $20,000 a month, renters can vacation at the Casa Bendita, a Georgian-influenced, Bermuda-style home with 16-foot ceilings and 7,000 square feet. Or why not spend a little more on an 8-bedroom, 9-bathroom, 8,660-square-foot mansion at 80 Middle Road, for just $30,000 a month?

To get a similarly sized nine bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Southampton, it would cost $180,000 just for July, according to listings with Corcoran.

For $20,000 per month at one home in East Hampton, vacationers will get three bedrooms and three bathrooms. But the house does not come with a butler’s pantry, a maid’s pantry, a bar room and 16-foot ceilings like the Casa Bendita.
