New tenants bring hope to SF retail market

After several years of suffering, the retail market in South Florida is
showing signs of life, led by several financially stable retail
companies bringing new offerings. Dick’s Sporting Goods is set to open
at Pembroke Crossing this fall, taking over the space once occupied by
Linens ‘N Things and Floral Supply Mart, both of which closed. A new
Nordstrom Rack is set to open at Boca Raton’s University Commons, which
formerly housed a Circuit City. Analysts still say a wave
of defaults and vacancies is coming, and vacancy rates and rents will
not see an upswing until the middle of next year. [Sun
