The light from giant media towers being proposed next to the Adrienne
Arsht Center for the Performing Arts would create an amount of light
equivalent to four full moons, according to an independent report
prepared for the City of Miami. Apartments within 800 feet of the controversial
billboards would feel the greatest intensity of light, but the light
might also reach some residents living as far as a half-mile away, states the
report, prepared by Main Street Engineering. Developer Mark
Siffin wants to put 350-foot and 250-foot billboards on top of a
100-foot-tall garage, which will be pointed toward the MacArthur
Causeway. [SFBJ]
