Following the announcement of a lawsuit brought by the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale over allegedly improper advertising by the Miami Association
of Realtors, the Miami organization released a statement denying the
allegations and calling the move “disappointing.” “This lawsuit seems to
be a reaction to healthy competition in the marketplace — and our
association offering more and better services at lower costs — to the
benefit of thousands of Realtors.” MAR said its membership numbers,
which list a total of 25,600, were accurate. “We are always accurate,
ethical and professional in all of our business practices, including our
advertising and promotion,” the group said, vowing to “vigorously
defend the lawsuit.”  — Alexander Britell
