The firm occupies 17.3 million square feet of space, the report said, with 10.9 million of those leased. Last year, in the third quarter, Apple occupied 13.2 million square feet, and leased about 7 million square feet, the Business Journal said.

Apple is planning a $100 million Cupertino campus, to open in 2015, as reported. It was unclear how much of the increase in real estate holdings was related to that project, which has been dubbed “the spaceship.” [San Jose Business Journal] –Guelda Voien
