Wellington equestrian farm sells in auction to Ecuadorean magnate for nearly $7M

Two Swans Farm, an equestrian estate in Wellington, has sold for $6.88 million at an auction conducted by Platinum Luxury Auctions, a statement released by the firm today said.

The horse farm had been listed for three years without an offer prior to the auction sale, the statement said. The initial ask was $7.5 million; the reserve price was $4 million. The sale closed on March 11th.

Once the auction was underway, numerous all cash bidders surfaced, according to David Enriquez, Platinum’s project manager for the sale.

“The caliber of the buyers for this sale was so high, our roster of inquirers could be taken from the pages of Forbes magazine,” Enriquez said in the statement.

The successful buyer was an anonymous Ecuadorean business magnate, the statement from Platinum said. –Guelda Voien
