Trader Joe's has met with hurdles in obtaining a construction permit

Despite signing a lease for a building in Pinecrest across from the Dadeland South Metrorail Station seven months ago, Trader Joe’s has yet to obtain a construction permit for its much-heralded new Miami store, Curbed reported.

Apparently, the Village of Pinecrest is unhappy with portions of Trader Joe’s plan for its first Southeast Florida outpost and the popular discount grocer is currently preparing revisions to its building plans, per Curbed.

As previously reported, demand for a Trader Joe’s in South Florida is high, with West Palm Beach vowing to change their name to Trader Joe’s, if the retailer chooses their city for its next location. [Curbed] – Sanna Chu
