The tilt-a-whirls at King Richard’s Family Fun Park went for a final spin Sunday. The landmark amusement park at 6780 Airport-Pulling Road, a 21-year-old North Naples institution, was sold by its owners, Robert and Deborah Bickle, to the Zellers family, who plan to convert the site into a car dealership, Naples News reported.

The 1970s-style carnival rides, arcade games and go-karts will be removed from the 11.3-acre lot to make way for a 65,000-square-foot Tamiami Hyundai dealership that will include repairs and a showroom, the paper said. The dealership is expected to open next year, with construction starting this fall.

The property had been listed for sale since 2006, according to Naples News. The sales price was estimated at $5 million. [Naples News]Sanna Chu
