A real estate attorney and outspoken critic of Florida’s foreclosure legislation will take his Internet-based crusade to a meeting with Broward County circuit court judges.

Weston-based attorney Roy Oppenheim battled the Florida Bar earlier this year over the body’s support for new fast-track foreclosure legislation and will be the only attorney on a three-judge panel to debate the issue, according to a release.

“Ultimately, the bill that passed is a hodgepodge of elements that will likely gum up the foreclosure process because parts of it are either unconstitutional or sufficiently ambiguous so that controversies will linger on in the appellate courts for years,” Oppenheim says.

Oppenheim also will serve as keynote speaker at the Oct. 11 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. — Emily Schmall
