Kobi Karp designing Beach hotel renovations

Prominent Miami architect Kobi Karp is behind the planned renovation of three Miami Beach properties across from Collins Park.

Karp was hired by Think Hotel Group for the South Beach Hotel and two adjacent hotels along 21st Avenue, Curbed reported. The South Beach Hotel, a two-story Art Deco building designated by the city as historic, is expected to open by the end of 2013. Renovations of the Ansonia and Plymouth buildings should follow shortly thereafter.

Pompano Beach-based Casa Conde is designing the interiors of the hotels. Project plans include the repositioning of neighboring hotel the Boulan’s courtyard into a public plaza facing Collins Park. [Curbed] — Eric Kalis
