The historic preservation board in Miami Beach signed off on the overhaul of the iconic Van Dyke building at 846 Lincoln Road. The site served as home to the Van Dyke Cafe for nearly 20 years until it closed late last year.

The owners, a subsidiary of Crown Acquisitions of New York, are in talks to continue hosting a jazz club on the second floor. Crown paid $16 million for the site in 2012. Yoga-inspired clothing company Lululemon signed a lease for space in the building after renovations are complete.

Developer Carl Fisher constructed the building in 1924, exMiami reported. [exMiami]Mark Maurer
