Pro hockey player buys South Beach condo

While preparing to represent the Czech Republic during next month’s Winter Olympics, professional hockey player Petr Nedved acquired an Icon South Beach condo for $3.1 million, The Real Deal has learned.

Nedved, who spent 15 seasons playing in the National Hockey League, purchased Unit 3902 at the 450 Alton Road tower on Jan. 15, according to Miami-Dade County records. The county recorded the transaction Tuesday. No financing was recorded.

Debra O’Donnell sold the 1,933-square-foot condo to Nedved. She paid $1.75 million for the two-bedroom unit in August 2012.

Icon South Beach was completed in 2005.

Nedved played for seven teams during his NHL career. He currently plays professionally in the Czech Republic and was named to the nation’s Olympic squad earlier this month. — Eric Kalis
