Construction of Brickell apartment project begins

Brickell’s residential construction wave continued with work beginning at the Edge at Brickell apartment project.

Behringer Harvard Multifamily REIT of Dallas is building the 418-unit Edge on 2.4 acres at Southwest 13th Street and Second Avenue, South Florida Business Journal reported. The company is partnering with a Dutch pension fund and Alliance Residential of Phoenix in the venture. Plaza Construction is serving as general contractor.

Units at Edge average 799 square feet, with the largest apartments having two bedrooms and bathrooms. Behringer expects to finish construction during the fourth quarter of 2015. [South Florida Business Journal] — Eric Kalis
