Family hotel group finishing $12M SoBe project

The family-run South Beach Group has amassed a portfolio of 12 hotels totaling nearly 1,000 rooms in Miami Beach and Hollywood.

Led by father and son duo Alan and Nathan Lieberman, South Beach Group currently has about 500 hotel rooms under development, the Miami Herald reported. The company is scheduled to open the 100-room Croydon Arms at 3720 Collins Avenue this spring. It paid $6.8 million for the Croydon property and expects to spend about $12 million on renovations.

South Beach Group got its start with the purchase of the 49-room Hotel Shelley 15 years ago. The company’s current projects include short-term apartments at 75th Street and Collins Avenue and a beachfront hotel on 36th Street and Collins Avenue. [Miami Herald] — Eric Kalis
