Kia set to build out current site in Fort Lauderdale
A Fort Lauderdale Kia dealership is planning a $16 million expansion.
Gunther Motor Co. has commissioned Stiles Construction to design and build a 425,536-square-foot facility on 7.75 acres. The project will feature 50,000 square feet of showroom and service area space, 1,200 spaces for parking inventory, 15 service bays and an eight-bay car detailing area, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
“Gunther Motor Co. has grown so significantly over the past decade we have had to completely rebuild with brand new facilities,” vice president Jay Gunther said in a statement. The new store “is located next to our largest body shop in South Florida with on-site insurance adjusters and an Enterprise rental center,” he added.
The project will break ground April 24 and is slated to open at 1900 South State Road 7 in late 2014 or early 2015. [Sun-Sentinel] – Christopher Cameron
