Condo project underway in Hillsboro Beach

Six years after finishing a boutique condo building in Hillsboro Beach, the Marrano/Marc Equity development firm is back in town with another waterfront project.

Marrano/Marc started construction earlier this month on 1200 The Ocean, an 18-unit beachfront building across State Road A1A from its last Hillsboro Beach development, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Unit prices range from $900,000 to $2.3 million. The firm hopes to finish 1200 The Ocean by September 2015.

Both 1200 The Ocean and Marrano/Marc’s 1200 Hillsboro Mile are to be governed by the same condo documents. The housing collapse resulted in the 11-unit 1200 Hillsboro Mile taking six years to sell out.

Marrano/Marc expects to sell 1200 The Ocean at a much faster clip. The firm already has five of the 18 units under contract since January. [Sun-Sentinel] — Eric Kalis
